FRNBA Infrastructure Workshop in Swakopmund, Namibia

During the week of September 3rd through 7th, 2012, the International Regulatory Development Partnership (IRDP) provided support to the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies of Africa (FNRBA) by delivering three training courses at the Fourth meeting of the FNRBA Thematic Working Group on Regulatory Infrastructure for Nuclear Power Plants in Swakopmund, Namibia. The three training courses included the Fundamentals of Reactor Regulation Workshop, Nuclear Quality Assurance course, and Nuclear Codes and Standards course. The venue for the workshop was the Sea Side Hotel and Spa in Swakopmund. The facilities provided by Namibia were excellent. There were 54 participants from 8 different African countries at the workshop including representatives from 7 FNRBA member countries, as well as political and government representatives from various Namibian Ministries, industry, academia, and the media.
