This workshop provides developing regulatory agencies with basic knowledge about regulatory vendor inspections that are performed both for manufacturing and design.
This hybrid course includes information related to vendor inspection extracted from the construction and vendor inspection course, as well as aspects extracted from the Codes and Standards course. A significant amount of new material was added to cover the conduct of vendor inspections. The participant’s learning experience about practical aspects of vendor inspections is reinforced through eight exercises where a variety of recent USNRC vendor inspection reports are examined and discussed. Topics covered during the workshop include: Vendor Inspection Principles; Inspector Access; Application of Codes and Standards; Importance of Nuclear Quality Assurance; Planning, Conducting, and Documenting Inspections; Counterfeit, Fraudulent, Suspect Items; and International Initiatives.
