Nuclear Executive Workshop and Fukushima Training in New Orleans, Louisiana

March 15th, 2012 —

From March 5-9, 2012, Scott Newberry and Richard Emch of AdSTM conducted training for ten participants from nations that are members of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA): Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, and Tunisia. The training included a Nuclear Executive Workshop and a discussion of the events at Fukushima. The training was conducted at the International House, a hotel a few blocks from the historic French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. Many of the participants, including Professor Abdelmajid Mahjoub, the Director General of the AAEA, were indeed “nuclear executives”, fairly high-ranking members of their respective governments. Jack Ramsey, the Program Manager for the International Regulatory Development Partnership in the NRC’s Office of International Programs, joined the workshop on Thursday and led the management meeting on Friday, March 9.
