From March 12-15, 2013, Sergey Katsenelenbogen of AdSTM attended the 4th Annual Meeting of the Arab Network of Nuclear Regulators on March 12-13 (ANNuR) and the Meeting of National Committees for Nuclear and Radiological Law on March 14-15, both in Hammamet, Tunisia. These meetings were attended by participants from nations that are members of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA): Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia. In addition the meeting was attended by representatives of EU, IAEA, KINS and SOGIN. AAEA presented information on the training activities in 2012 and plans for the 2013. IRDP support to ANNuR in 2013 will include workshops on reactor siting and select elements of the emergency planning workshop. IAEA presented AAEA information availability through the GNSSN web-site (at IAEA). AAEA representatives presented status of the national regulatory bodies. Progress in development of nuclear and radiological law and regulation was discussed during March 14-15.
