From November 26-28 the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) met with the Office of New Reactors (NRO) of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in their headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. A new siting workshop developed by AdSTM to illustrate how the NRC reviews a siting Application, either in the context of Early Site Permit (ESP), Construction Permit (CP), or Combined License (COL) was conducted on October 29 - November 2, 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand at Thailand’s Office of Atom for Peace (OAP). From September 17 – 21, four staff members from AdSTM and Brookhaven National Lab successfully conducted a workshop for the staff of China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NSC) of the China National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) on a number of computer codes, including TRACE, PARCS, SCALE (primarily TRITON, NEWT), and SNAP.
